Can Woolly Worms predict the Weather?

You might have seen woolly worms this fall, but did you know they could possibly predict the weather?

Woolly Worms, also known as woolly bear caterpillars are not technically worms; they are caterpillars, specifically the larva of the Isabella tiger moth.

This is what Lincoln state park ranger Mike crews had to say about if woolly worms can predict the weather.

As far as the colors go this is what Crews have to say about about if the wooly worm colors have a special meaning

Although Crews said that Woolly worms do not change colors to predict the weather , the myth that they do will surely live on for years to come.
