Dixie K. Cox, age 75, of Spurgeon, formerly of Madison County, Indiana passed away at 4:48 p.m., on Saturday, November 12, 2016, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.

She was born January 22, 1941, in Anderson, Indiana to Dan and Ruth (Wheeler) Dayton; and was united in marriage to Brodie R. Cox on January 2, 1958, in Phoenix, Arizona. She and Brodie have lived in Winslow and Spurgeon for the past 20 years; previous to this they were residents of Madison County, Indiana. Dixie was a self-employed reflexologist and member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one infant son, James Ray Cox.

She is survived by:

Tim (former wife, Darin Cox) Cox of Alexandria, Ind.,

Todd Cox of Castalian Springs, Tennessee,

Barry (wife, Kathleen) Cox of Greenwood, Ind.;

Three sisters,

Carmen Reynolds of Globe, Arizona,

Danene Dayton of Anderson, Ind.,

Georgeana Dayton of Florida;

Three brothers,

Danny Dayton of Anderson, Ind.,

Johnny Dayton of Anderson, Ind.,

Terry Dayton of Indianapolis, Ind.;

and (7) grandchildren.

In Huntingburg, Indiana:

Visitation for Dixie K. Cox will be held at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 4:00-8:00 p.m., E.S.T., on Tuesday, November 15, 2016, with a prayer vigil held at 8:00 p.m., conducted by Pastor Larry Stoops.

In Alexandria, Indiana:

Visitation will also be held at the Noffze Funeral Home in Alexandria, Indiana from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., E.S.T., on Thursday, November 17, 2016, with funeral services held at 1:00 p.m., conducted by Pastor Joseph Collins. Burial will take place at Forrestville Cemetery in Summitville, Indiana.
