Some local non emergency government offices both county and municipal will be closed this coming Monday February 18th for President’s Day.
In Jasper, Jasper City Hall, the Jasper Street Department and resource and recovery site, as well as all utilities Administrative offices will be closed next Monday the 18th in observance of the federal holiday.
Trash and cardboard recycling normally collected Monday February 18th will be picked up on Tuesday the 19th. Trash and cardboard recycling for the rest of the week will be on the regular schedule.
Residents are asked to have all trash and cardboard recycling placed along the curbside by 7 am.
Also all non-emergency offices with the City of Huntingburg as well as the County of Dubois will be closed next Monday February 18th for President’s Day including the Dubois County Courthouse and the courthouse annex.
Offices for the Town of Ferdinand including Ferdinand Town Hall will be open for business as normal Monday.
Ferdinand Town Manager Chris James says they will have trash pick up, so residents are asked to please have your trash curbside by 7am Monday morning.
Now in regards to schools, all area school corporations were scheduled to have both today (Friday) and Monday off in observance of the President’s Day holiday.
However that was not be the case for all but one.
Three of Dubois County’s four school corporations, including Northeast and Southeast Dubois County Schools as well as Greater Jasper Consolidated Schools are in session today and Monday as part of a snow make-up day from recent weather events.
Southwest Dubois County Schools used those days as part of an e-learning day and were closed both today and Monday.
One other school corporation, North Spencer Schools also was in session today and Monday a part of snow makeup days.
