Spencer County students recently traveled to the Indiana Statehouse, where they were welcomed by State Rep. Steven Bartels and State Sen. Daryl Schmitt.

The students are members of Spencer County VOICE, a youth organization focused on raising awareness about the dangers of tobacco use and promoting a tobacco-free future. The group is part of VOICE Indiana, a statewide initiative that encourages teens to lead prevention efforts through education, advocacy, and peer outreach.

During their visit, the students met with lawmakers to share information about their work and discuss strategies aimed at reducing tobacco use among young people.

The visit also gave students the opportunity to learn more about state government and engage directly with elected officials as they continue their efforts to promote healthier communities.
