Ireland Elementary School is one of many host sites around the state for the 23rd annual hoosier spell bowl.
Competition for the elementary division will be held at 6 pm Thursday November 19th
The schools participating will be in four enrollment classes in grades four through six.
The local participating schools in Class Blue are Cedar Crest Intermediate, Perry Central Elementary, and William Tell elementary.
The Class Green School is Holy Trinity.
Class Orange Schools include Huntingburg Elementary, Tenth Street Elementary, and Ireland Elementary.
Class Red schools are Holland Elementary, Otwell Elementary, Petersburg Elementary and Winslow Elementary.
The competition is a team concept with no individual awards. Elementary spell bowl pins will be awarded to actual team members and a coach of the first, second and third-place teams in each enrollment classification at each site.
In addition, the top 10 teams in each enrollment classification statewide will receive either a plaque or certificate to place in their respective schools.
