Dillon W. Gentry, 23 of Lamar died Wednesday May 25th in Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. He was born June 28, 1992 in Jasper to Michael L. & Paula J. (Hessig) Gentry.

Surviving are his parents, Michael L. & Paula J. Gentry of Lamar. One brother, Jordan M. Gentry of Grandview, One sister, Lydia J. Gentry & fiance’ Aaron Stephens of Petersburg, one nephew Aden Gentry & one niece Sofia Stephens. Grandparents, Barbara S. Gentry of Lamar and Hilbert H. & Evelyn Hessig of St. Meinrad. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Benton W. Gentry.

Dillon was a heavy equipment operator and a member of Local 181 Operators & Engineers Union. He graduated from Heritage Hills High School, Class of 2011 where he participated in football & wrestling. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and enjoyed being with family & friends.

Funeral services 9:00 AM CDT Monday in Saint Nicholas Catholic Church, Santa Claus with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to 7:00 PM CDT Sunday at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand, and after 8:00 AM CDT Monday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Riley’s Children’s Hospital.
