Officials with the Indiana Department of Transportation say lane closures will be put into place for the State Road 37 Bridge spanning the Lost River near Paoli.

The department says beginning on or around next Monday, May 23rd, contractors will begin work on a pavement overlay project that will reduce traffic on the bridge to one 17-foot lane. INDOT says work will begin in the southbound lane and switch over to the northbound lane at a later date. Traffic will be controlled by a temporary signal.

During construction, the restrictions will be in place around the clock. Work is expected to take until mid-August depending upon weather conditions.

INDOT urges the motoring public to slow down and stay alert near crews.

Motorists can learn about highway work zones and other traffic alerts at indot.carsprogram.org, 1-800-261- 7623 or by dialing 511 from a mobile phone. They can also be followed @INDOTSouthwest on Twitter and at Facebook.com/INDOTVincennesDistrict.
