Anticipation and excitement is higher than ever as aspiring country music artists prepare for the 35th Annual WBDC Country Showdown.

The Showdown is set for Thursday June 9th at the Jasper Arts Center ajacent to the Vincennes University Jasper Campus. The show will begin at 6:30 pm EDT.

Thirteen acts from across the region will perform in this year’s show, with five returning and eight making their Showdown debut. WBDC is proud to once again host this country music talent search, with a chance for a local artist to win over $1,000 in cash and prizes.
Those set to take part this year include:

  • The Modern Day Outlaws of Celestine
  • Robert Ruetman also of Celestine
  • Robert Stutsman and Boo Polley both of Huntingburg
  • Julie Garcia and Amy Brewster as well as the Kira Cantu and Band all of Jasper
  • Brooke Lawalin of Tell City
  • Rodney Watts of Petersburg, IN
  • Luke and Jessi of Whites Creek, TN
  • Amy Jo Madden and the M.A.D. Women Band of Southern Indiana
  • Cody Ikerd of Bedford
  • The Riegle Family Band of Muncie
  • and Carl Sommer of Derby.

Tickets will be $5 at the door.

WBDC Country Showdown looks to find the most promising country music talent in the area, giving these performers a chance to be named “Best New Act in 101 Country.”

Once again, winners compete for a $1,000 cash prize for first place, $250 for second place, and $100 for third place. The top three finishers will receive beautifully engraved trophies as well.
