At 11 o’clock Saturday night Jasper Police were told of a fight that was in progress when they arrived, police learned that 35-year old Jason Basham got into a verbal confrontation with another man. Police say the dispute was over Basham’s kitten.

They say the dispute then turned physical when Basham punched the other man in the face. They say the punch to the face then caused a swollen eye and a bloody mouth to the victim.

Basham was medically cleared for jail after an unfounded complaint of “entire body” pain. He was taken to and booked into the Dubois County Security Center on charges of Battery with Bodily Injury, a Class A Misdemeanor, and a Class B Misdemeanor Count of Disorderly Conduct.
