A Pike County woman suffered minor injuries when she was struck by a car at an intersection near downtown Jasper Wednesday afternoon.

Just after 3:15 pm yesterday Jasper Police were called to the intersection of 12th and Main Streets where police say 41-year old Yilan Reed of Petersburg was crossing Main Street near the Jasper Public Library however police say she was in the middle of the block and was not using the crosswalk.

Meanwhile police say a car driven by 61-year old Randall Blessinger of Evansville was headed north on Main and attempted to pull into a parking space in front of the library building.

Police say Blessinger failed to see Reed, striking her and knocking her to the ground.

Reed complained of pain to her legs back and neck. She was taken by ambulance to Memorial Hiospital in Jasper for treatment.

No charges were filed.
