Jasper Police say just after 11 am 18-year old Dallas Stepro of Jasper, was eastbound on Sixth Street when police say Stepro stopped his SUV at Mill Street, then attempted a left turn to go north on Mill Street.

Police said Stepro’s SUV collided with a northbound passenger car driven by 72-year old Patricia Pennington also of Jasper.

Pennington told police she had stopped her car at Sixth Street and it was her turn to proceed when she advanced into the intersection.

Stepro says he saw Pennington’s car moving at the intersection but he assumed it was going to stop.

So far no one has been charged in the incident pending an investigation by police.

Anyone who witnessed the accident is asked to contract the Jasper Police Department at 812-482-2255 or the department’s anonymous tip line at 812-481-COPS.

A total 85-hundred dollars in damages was sustained.

Police say Pennington complained of feeling light-headed after the accident, and was transported by EMS from the scene.

Memorial Hospital Emergency Medical Services assisted at the scene.
