The 7th annual Ferdinand Folk Festival is this Saturday from 11:30 am to 9 pm at the 18th Street Park in Ferdinand. The festival is free to attend and features a family friendly, environmentally aware atmosphere. This years festival is presented by Best Home Furnishings.
To start the morning there is a informative nature hike planned through the Ferdinand State Forest. Throughout the day visitors are invited to bring lawn chairs, relax, explore and take part in the variety of entertainment.
This years festival features a large gathering of talented locale and national musicians and show cases the Rich Robinson Band at 7:30 pm on the NestEra Energy main stage. Rich Robinson is a founding member of the multi-platinum band the Black Crowes. Additional musicians preforming on the NextEra Energy Main Stage are the Buffalo Killers, Jonathan Tyler, the Jefferson Street Parade Band, Harpeth Rising, Troubadours of Divine Bliss, Hayley Payne, and the Ferdinand Folk Festival’s singer-songwriter competition overall winner Bethany Boeglin.
Guest are encouraged to try out new experiences at the festival. There will be a tour of a tiny house, group jam sessions, yoga, tai chi and tent talks which are fashioned after TED talks. Don’t forget to bring the kids, there will be a tie dyed shirt station, pony rides, a harmonica work shop and the children’s theater will be putting on a production of the beloved story Ferdinand The Bull. This years children’s entertainment is sponsored by MasterBrand Cabinets. Music starts at 11:30 am on the Woodstock Market Stage and alternates with the NextEra Energy Main Stage through out the day.
