Huntingburg’s Market Street Park project received a Merit Award for Design from the Indiana Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects. The award recognized that the Market Street Park project design plans have the potential to enhance the public realm of historic Downtown Huntingburg.

Within the designs for the future downtown area, the plans have incorporated the opportunity to provide additional transportation options along 4th street, revitalize the area around the Old Town Hall and create an area dedicated to community gatherings, festivals and events.

The INASLA Professional Awards credit excellence, outstanding examples of the profession of Landscape Architecture and representation of creativity and imagination. The Society stated that this project continuously promotes community and new programming that differs from other recreation park spaces within the city. As a return on this investment, additional economic development projects are already becoming reality as a direct result of what the creation of this new public space offers for the community.

The Market Street Park project is setting the stage for a healthy and productive downtown community for years to come.
