For the month of November the Jasper Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center will be offering free informational classes and paid courses. Thursday, November 3 there will be a Heartsaver CPR class from 5:30 – 9:30 p.m. in the Health and Wellness classroom, located at the Memorial South side Office. Pre-registration is required. The fee for the is course is $50 and requires prepayment.

The Alzheimer’s & Dementia Caregiver Support Group will be meeting on Wednesday, November 2 from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. in the Board conference Room A, located on the lower level of the Hospital near the Tower Cafe. Pre-registration is not necessary and there is not cost for this support group.

Wednesday, November 2 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. the hospital will be hosting “Breastfeeding: Getting Started” in the Board Conference Room on the lower level of the LCM Tower. The class is aimed at providing education that can aid in the transition into motherhood and breastfeeding. The class is for expecting mothers and their support partners . Pre-registration is required.

For expecting parents in the last trimester a class of “Baby Behavior” will be held on Wednesday, November 2, from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. in the Hospital’s Mary Potter Meeting Room. This class will cover infant sleep, feeding cues, engagement and disengagement cues, and crying. The class can also be helpful with in the first 1-2 months of the baby being born as well. Pre-registration is required.

A support group for breastfeeding moms will be held on Wednesday, November 2 from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. in the Board conference Room A, located on the lower level of the LCM Tower at the Hospital. No pre-registration is required. OB Lactation Service at 812-996-0383
