District 63 State Representative Mike Braun’s office has announced that a pair of local communities recently received more than $3 million in federal funding to improve infrastructure.
The Indiana Department of Transportation awarded federal funding in the amount of $1.6 million to Pike County for rehabilitation work on County Road 350 N and over $1.4 million to the city of Petersburg for sidewalk programs. In a release Braun says Indiana’s infrastructure affects every sector of the economy, helping to foster economic development and job growth.
He says these federal transportation funds will allow local officials to make necessary road and sidewalk improvements in the Petersburg community. Braun represents portions of Daviess, Dubois, Pike and Martin counties.
INDOT distributed nearly $80 million in federal transportation funding to 64 rural cities, towns and counties to invest in local road and bridge improvements and sidewalk and trail projects. Combined with local funds, close to $135 million is being invested in infrastructure in communities across Indiana.
