(Dubois County)-This Saturday morning, residents of Dubois County can make a difference in their community and join the county-wide Creek Sweep to help clean up Dubois County’s roadside ditches and creeks to improve waterways and keep Dubois County clean.
Volunteers are needed for everything from picking up litter off the roadsides to hefting large items such as tires out of creeks, and will be assigned a location based on volunteer preference.
Judi Brown, Director of the Dubois County Soil and Water Conservation District elaborates on the partnerships and purpose for this event.
Volunteers will meet at 8:30 am Saturday at the Dubois County Solid Waste District at 1103 S. 350 W. in Jasper to sign-in, be assigned a location, pick up supplies and grab a doughnut.
Volunteers will arrive back at the Solid Waste District Process Center by 11:30 am for prize give-aways.
Orgainzers of this event encourages people interested to pre-register to ensure plenty of supplies. The first 50 to register will receive a $10 voucher for recycling or disposal of items brought to the Process Center within 30 days of the Creek Sweep.

Sturdy shoes or boots and long pants are recommended. Pick-up trucks are appreciated. All other supplies will be provided.
Brown states that this a fun family and friend event to work together as a community and help the environment.
