Saturday, October 8th at the Astra Theater the Will Read and Sing is being held at 7 p.m. There is a $10 admission per person with all proceeds going to the Jasper Public Library. This is the 6th season and the 95th show for the event. One of the featured host will be 18WJTS’s very own Prisma Lopez-Marin who will be paired with Paola Marizan presenting a tribute to the late Selena. Other performances that will be showcased are The Los Guanacos Band and Kyle Lueken and His Small Band, plus finalists and winners of the WRASFF student writing contest.

Will Read and Sing for Food was started by Scott Saalman five years ago and has raised in upwards of 72,000 dollars with the proceeds going to locale charities. The emphasis of the shows are a desire for an outlet of new musicians and writers to experience performances with an audience. In the bargain the community reaps the benefit of enjoying an hour and a half show of talented performers.
