The Indiana Department of Revenue issued a news release this morning with the findings of a reduced rate for the 2017 tax year. The tax rate was reduced from 3.3 percent to 3.23 percent, along with six Indiana Counties changing there income tax rates effective Jan. 1, 2017.

Beginning in the new year local income tax imposed in a county will be the same for residents and nonresidents. Local income tax rates are established by county officials and reported to the Indiana Department of Revenue. The state cross references the reported rates to ensure they are in accordance with Indiana Law.

Individual Income Tax Rates for the area counties are as listed:
