70 year old Tom Sternberg a local business owner passed away on Tuesday at his home. Tom was a Jasper navtive born April 11, 1946 to Jack and Dorothy Sternberg. He married his loving wife Patricia Schwenk in the Precious Blood Catholic Church on January 24, 1970.
Tom will be rememberd as a fine business man and loving father. He was an owner of Sternberg Automotive Group after taking over for his father. He saw the expansion of Sternberg Automotive over the years with locations now in Lousiville, Evansville, Bloomington and Dale.
An avid golfer, bowler, card player, he most loved taking pride in his grandchildren. Surrounding himself with the love and laughter of family, he could always be found cheering on his grandchildren at their many ballgames.
He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper and their Holy Name men’s sodality. He was a member of the Jasper Knights of Columbus and the Jasper Kiwanis.
Missing him dearly will be his wife of almost 47 years Patty Sternberg, his two sons, Derek and Curtis, his step mother Carol Sternberg, his brother Steve and five Grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Tom Sternberg will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday (December 2, 2016) at Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana, with entombment to follow in Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum. The VFW Post #673 will conduct military gravesite rites.
Friends may call from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday (December 1, 2016) at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper, IN.
Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church, or the Dubois County Leukemia Association.
