Thursday afternoon just before 3 pm Seven Sermersheim of Celestine lost control of his 2002 Ford Focus when his vehicle slid off the road on the south side of State Road 164 and east of 500E.

Sermersheim’s vehicle traveled down and embankment, flipping over, finally coming to rest facing west. Sermersheim could not exit his vehicle when it came to its final resting spot. Celestine responders  had to removed him from his vehicle and he was treated on scene while awaiting an ambulance.

Memorial EMS arrived on the scene and treated Sermersheim for a laceration to the forehead. He denied transport to the hospital by ambulance. The vehicle was totaled in the accident. Dubois County Sherriff’s Department was assisted by Celestine Fire Department, first responders and Memorial Hospital EMS.
