Superior Ag broke ground on Tuesday for construction of a new, state-of-the-art feed mill in Dale that will function as a regional hub for the production of animal nutrition.The Feed Mill will be capable of producing 3,000 tons of livestock nutrition weekly and will provide bagged to bulk products of feeds and supplements with an automated stacker and bagger. The mill will feature a new pelleting line and aid to ensure all animal nutrition health and safety regulations are met.

 

Barry Day, President & CEO of Superior Ag discussed how the new mill will continue to stay competitive in a changing industry.

 

Superior Ag’s current feed mill locations of St. Meinrad, Jasper, & Princeton, will continue to serve our area farms during the construction of the new mill. The new site will merge our management and operation teams to a central location in our cooperative footprint. With combined experience in one location, we will deliver excellent products with optimal experience to our members and customers.

Barry Day shared the logistics of how Superior Ag operates as a Co-op with in the Agricultural industry.

 

Work on the new feed mill is scheduled to start on January 16th and it should open in the spring of 2016. Superior Ag is based out of Huntingburg, Indiana.
