A Mt. Vernon man was arrested this weekend after he allegedly shot his wife.

48-year-old Rodney Givens was arrested Sunday morning by Indiana State Police Detectives after he is thought to have allegedly shot his wife during an argument at their Mt. Vernon residence.

According to Detectives with the State Police Givens and his wife were involved in an argument early Sunday morning when he allegedly grabbed a handgun and shot her one time.

Crystal Givens, Rodney Givens wife was treated for a non-life threatening gunshot wound at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.

Rodney Givens was arrested without incident and taken to the Posey County Jail where he is currently being held without bond. He is facing a charge of criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon and a charge of aggravated battery.

An investigation continues into the incident.
