Huntingburg City Councilman Tim Wehr provided fellow members of the Huntingburg City Council information from the Coalition Against Bigger Trucks during a meeting Tuesday evening. The Coalition Against Bigger Trucks is  a national organization currently asking the U.S. Congress to oppose any bills to increase truck size and weight limits.

Wehr says he was contacted by a leader of the coalition who is concerned about the damage heavier trucks would cause to roads and bridges.

Wehr says currently the regulation is only allowed on federally regulated highways…..

Wehr says the coalition would like for the common council to also advocate to legislators opposition to any increases. Council members plan to review the information they’ve received.
