A crash along Interstate 64 in Warrick County earlier this week took the life of a Huntingburg man.

The Warrick County Sheriff’s Department says around a quarter after 5 Tuesday afternoon 21-year old Jonathan Alcantar-Ramirez of Huntingurg was headed down the westbound lane of I-64.

Just before reaching the Lynnville exit, authorities say a wrecker was attempting to turn around at the scene to retrieve a disabled vehicle when it was struck from behind by Alcantar-Ramirez’s vehicle.

The crash closed the westbound lanes for about two hours.

Indiana State Police accident reconstructionists assisted at the scene.
