A traffic stop in downtown Jasper Monday evening resulted in a Jasper woman’s arrest on charges of OWI and Child Neglect.

Around a 7:45 last night, an officer with the Jasper Police Department pulled over a vehicle driven by 43-year old Krista Schmitt of Jasper at the intersection of 4th and Main Street just south of the downtown Jasper square.

An investigation by police found that Schmitt was under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol content of .088.

Police say Schmitt’s juvenile daughter was also in the vehicle.

Schmitt was taken into custody and booked into the Dubois County Security Center on charges of Operating a vehicle while intoxicated, operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a passenger who is under 18 years old and Neglect of a dependent.
