According to the Spencer County Coroner’s Office, on May 11th, 2019 shortly after 6:30 AM, the Spencer County Coroner’s Office responded to a single vehicle fatality on SR 66 approximately half a mile west of County Road 1290 East in Evanston. Preliminary investigation efforts by the Spencer County Sheriff’s Department revealed an eastbound vehicle left the south side of the road for an unknown reason coming to rest in a ravine.
The deceased was identified as Everett Smith, 39, from Tell City, Indiana. An autopsy was performed that afternoon. The Autopsy revealed that the deceased died on impact due to Blunt Force Trauma to the Head.
