A Jasper woman was arrested yesterday evening, after allegedly shoplifting, and illegally possessing drugs at the Newton Street Walmart Supercenter.

Police got a report of a shoplifter being detained by staff.

The woman, 37-year-old Jamie Beamon was reportedly being difficult and uncooperative.

Beamon is accused of switching price tags on items and attempted to steal items worth $41.68.

According to police, Beamon had possession of marijuana, a smoking pipe, and multiple pills.

Beamon was booked into the Dubois County Security Center at nine last night on preliminary charges that include a level six felony count of unlawful possession of a prescription drug, and misdemeanor counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, marijuana, and a controlled substance.
