Dubois County has the lowest unemployment rate in the state.

The Indiana Department of Workforce Development released the county by county rates Monday afternoon.

Dubois County took the top spot once again with a 1.9 unemployment rate for September.

This is a slight decrease from the August unemployment rate of 2.4.

Boone, Bartholomew and Tipton counties tied for second place with a 2.0 rate.

Numbers for the surrounding counties include Daviess County at 2.1, Martin at 2.3, Spencer at 2.6, Orange, Pike and Perry counties tied at 2.8, Crawford at 3.1, and Warrick County at 2.4.

The statewide unemployment rate for September was 3.2%, which is still lower than the national rate of 3.5%.
