Train delays caused a few headaches in Huntingburg this afternoon.

Huntingburg Mayor Denny Spinner spoke Norfolk Southern train officials and says the delay was caused by a mechanical issue, preventing the train from moving in a timely manner.

Mayor Spinner also says longer trains were rerouted to Huntingburg because of a railroad bridge washout in Kansas City.

According to the Mayor, this caused Norfolk Southern to consolidate two trains into one long train, with some as long as 11,000 feet.

Norfolk Southern told Mayor Spinner the bridge will be back in service within two weeks.
