41-year-old Jason Atkins is sentenced to 45 years for the 2017 murder of a Birdseye man.

Atkins was sentenced in Dubois Circuit Court on Monday after entering a plea deal for the murder of Darin Atkins in Birdseye back in 2017.

Although they both have the same last name, they are not related.

Atkins is serving 25 years in prison and will spend the remaining 20 years on probation.

Sarah Andry of Eckerty goes on trial next year for her alleged role in Atkins murder.
