The Next Act is excited to announce the schedule of events for the second half of the 2021 season at the historic Astra Theatre. It has been a quiet 16 months since the facilities were shuttered due to the pandemic, but it is now ready to bring live entertainment back to the Jim & Pat Thyen Performance Stage.
Local band StyReo will kick things off with a live performance on Saturday, August 21. This Jasper-based band brings all the best of Styx and REO.
Bluesy, rocking and thoroughly Southern American musician Paul Thorn is scheduled for Saturday, September 11.
A yet-to-be-announced movie will play on Friday, September 17 in conjunction with the Heart of Jasper Farm to Table event.
On Saturday, September 25, American rock & roll artist Will Hoge will take to the stage.
In conjunction with the Beehive Arts Market, a yet-to-be-announced movie will be screened on Friday, October 8.
The always entertaining Rock Lotto will take over the Astra Theatre on Saturday, November 20.
Finally, two Christmas movies will finish out the second half of the 2021 season. A yet-to-be-announced movie geared towards kids will be shown on Saturday, December 4, while a more adult Christmas movie will play on Saturday, December 18.

The historic Astra Theatre is located in the heart of downtown Jasper, Indiana. Newly renovated with 357 seats, the Astra has main level and balcony seating with a concessions stand offering snacks and drinks that are available for purchase during the events.
