Last week, the Indiana Sheriffs Association (ISA) held their summer conference in French Lick, Indiana, where Sheriff Tom Kleinhelter was named President of the ISA for 2025. The purpose of the Indiana Sheriffs Conference was to provide an opportunity for sheriffs and their staff from across the state to engage in professional development, training, and networking. The conference offered educational sessions, workshops, and discussions on the latest trends, challenges, and best practices in the field of law enforcement. The conference also served as an opportunity for collaboration among law enforcement agencies, promoting the exchange of ideas, and supporting the continuous improvement of county sheriff services in Indiana. Those in attendance from the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office included Sheriff Kleinhelter, Chief Deputy Monarrez, and Jail Commander Randy Schnell.

As President of the Indiana Sheriffs Association, Sheriff Kleinhelter will oversee the implementation of the Association’s initiatives, including educational programs, training, legislative advocacy, and efforts to improve the administration and delivery of sheriff services. His leadership will ensure that the Association continues to promote professionalism within the criminal justice system, effectively raise necessary funds, and engage in long-range planning to enhance law enforcement practices throughout the state.
