An anonymous tip submitted through the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office mobile app has led to the arrest of a Dubois resident on multiple felony charges. Officers discovered 21.3 grams of methamphetamine, multiple firearms, a body armor tactical vest with plates, and several items of drug paraphernalia.

Robert A. Rasche, 40, of Dubois, is charged with:

  • Dealing in Methamphetamine, level 2 felony
  • Possession of Methamphetamine, level 3 felony
  • Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Domestic Batterer, Class A Misdemeanor
  • Possession of Paraphernalia, Class C Misdemeanor

On Monday, August 5, after receiving an anonymous tip regarding a Dubois resident manufacturing methamphetamine in a garage behind his home, Narcotics Detectives from the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office proceeded to the address of Robert A. Rasche to initiate a narcotics investigation.

While speaking with Rasche about the tip that had been received, detectives inquired about the garage. After receiving permission from Rasche to enter the garage, detectives detected a strong chemical odor and observed a glass smoking pipe with burnt white residue just inside the doorway. Due to the strong chemical odor, detectives asked Rasche to step back outside the garage to continue the conversation. A search warrant for the property was applied for, granted, and executed.

During the search of the property, detectives located 21.3 grams of methamphetamine, multiple firearms, one body armor tactical vest with plates, and various items of drug paraphernalia. All items were seized and secured for evidence.

Robert A. Rasche was transported to the Dubois County Security Center, where he was held on the above charges. Rasche has since made his initial court appearance and was released from the Security Center on a $5,000 bond.
