Early this morning, Sunday, August 18th, 2024, the Jasper Police Department was dispatched to a call reporting they had been battered by a male suspect at Maple Grove Trailer Park. The caller also advised that the suspect had a pistol.

Officers arrived on the scene and were able to locate the suspect in a trailer, who was detained by officers and later identified as 40-year-old, Jose De Jesus Perez Martinez of Jasper.

Upon investigation, officers located paraphernalia belonging to Martinez; who admitted to smoking Methamphetamine after testing .23 on a preliminary breath test.

Martinez was booked into the Dubois County Security Center and is facing charges of battery and possession of paraphernalia.
