In a recent article by Worldatlas.com, three local towns were listed as “9 Indiana Towns that Were Ranked Among US Favorites in 2024”. Those chosen for the list were considered excellent small towns in Indiana with interesting histories, attractions, and picturesque parks and forests for travelers to visit.
French Lick kicked off the article with its renowned gorgeous hotels in the area, the West Baden Springs Hotel and French Lick Springs Hotel being mentioned; along with the French Lick Casino and other great attractions in town to explore.
Santa Claus was later picked due to charmingly keeping the spirit of Christmas alive at the Santa Claus Museum & Village, the Santa Claus Christmas Store, Holiday World & Splashing Safari, and children being able to send a letter to Santa Claus at the original town post office.
Last but not least Jasper finished the list for its rich history of German Catholic immigration, especially found in St. Joseph Church, a Roman Catholic Church built in the late 1800s; as well as other destinations for history lovers like the Dubois Couty Museum and several historic buildings in the Old Jasper district.
