On August 11th, 2024, at 11:08 PM the Jasper Police Department responded to a 911 call reporting an accident involving a vehicle on its side. The collision involved two vehicles, both of which were totaled. The first vehicle, a 2012 Chrysler Town & Country, was driven by Michael Meyer of Eckerty, who sustained no injuries. The second vehicle, a 2017 Dodge Durango, was driven by Yasiel Ortela Corrales of Jasper. Corrales was cited for operating a vehicle without ever receiving a license. No injuries were reported. Both vehicles were removed from the scene by Luegers. First responders and EMS provided assistance.
