In a post shared on the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page on Tuesday morning, it was announced that School Resource Officer and Certified Firearms Instructor Tim Lampert successfully conducted a firearms safety class over two consecutive Wednesdays. This program was specifically designed for civilian women aged 18 and older who had little to no prior experience with firearms.

The class provided essential training on critical topics such as handgun safety practices for both home and firing range environments, effective shooting stances, and proper sight alignment. Additionally, the course included self-defense techniques, empowering participants with the knowledge and confidence to handle firearms safely and responsibly.

The Dubois County Sheriff’s Office expressed gratitude to Officer Lampert for his dedication to educating the community about firearm safety and promoting responsible gun ownership. This initiative is especially important for women, who often find themselves as victims of violent crimes, making firearm training a crucial step towards personal safety and empowerment.

More information about future classes will be shared at a later date, encouraging those interested to stay tuned for updates.
