The winners for the 31st Annual Juried Art Exhibit at Jasper Community Arts, Thyen-Clark Cultural Center, were recently announced at the award ceremony and reception on Thursday, September 5th.

Best of Show went to Christina Zimmer Robinson of Evansville, IN for her piece, Too Many Birds.

Award of Excellence went to Vicki Wheatley of Louisville, KY for her piece, Not Just a Brick.

Award of High Honor went to Kazhia Kolb of Saint Meinrad, IN for her piece, Iris Garden.

Honorable Mentions included:

Corrine Smith of Rock Island, IL for her piece, Units #3-22.

John Marshall of Ferdinand, IN for his pieces, Shadows of Spring.

Andreea Alunei of Bloomington, IN for her piece, Eastern Bloc Babe.

Bill Whorrall of Shoals, IN for his piece, Hoosier Pep Before Beauty College.

Ashley Brossart of Louisville, KY for her piece, Bridge / Pier / Overlook.

This year’s judge for the show was Darryl Halbrooks. To ensure fairness, judging was made without identifying the artists.

The galleries at the Thyen-Clark Cultural Center, located at 100 3rd Avenue, Suite A, in Jasper, are open to the public Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, Saturday from 10 AM to 2 PM, and Sunday from noon to 3 PM. School groups, clubs, and
students are welcome. Admission is free but donations are appreciated.
