The Dubois County Sheriff’s Office is proud to announce that Drake Lechner has been sworn in as its newest Deputy. Lechner, a native of the area, expressed his motivation to serve, stating, “I want to give back to the area I grew up in.” He brings valuable experience to the role, having completed an internship at Dubois County Community Corrections and working for three years at the Dubois County Security Center.

Lechner believes that his time working in the jail provided him with important skills, particularly the ability to build rapport quickly with people, which he anticipates will be helpful in his new position as Deputy. He is excited to embark on this next chapter of his law enforcement career and is eager to achieve his goals. Among his aspirations, Lechner hopes to become a defensive tactics instructor or take on a role as a detective.

The Dubois County Sheriff’s Office is equally enthusiastic about Deputy Lechner joining the team and looks forward to seeing him continue to serve the community with dedication and integrity.
