The Southridge Raider High School Gym underwent renovations recently. The Southwest Dubois County School Corporation facility, originally constructed in the early 1970s, has undergone significant upgrades addressing longstanding concerns about the aging structure.

The project, which began during summer break as part of the district’s ongoing capital improvement plan, primarily focused on enhancing both functionality and aesthetics with new flooring, improved lighting and ceiling fixtures, and a modern HVAC system.

The renovation comes at a crucial time for the Raiders athletic program, which has seen considerable success in recent years across multiple sports. The updated gymnasium now features a resilient hardwood court surface, energy-efficient LED lighting systems that significantly brighten the space, and climate control capabilities ensuring comfortable conditions regardless of outside temperatures.

School officials report that the refurbished facility not only improves the athletic experience but also creates a more welcoming environment for community events and physical education classes.
