The Spencer County Emergency Management Agency announced that the American Red Cross is providing financial assistance to individuals facing major obstacles in their recovery following recent disaster events.

The Red Cross is working alongside state and county officials to complete damage assessments across affected areas. Over the next two weeks, Red Cross representatives will contact individuals whose homes were confirmed to be destroyed or significantly damaged. Some residents will receive direct invitations to enroll for assistance through email, text message, or phone call.

For those whose contact information is unavailable, the Red Cross encourages visiting redcross.org/gethelp or calling 1-800-RED-CROSS (800-733-2767) to register for support and open a case.
