The Dubois County Humane Society (DCHS) has received a generous donation of $4,730 from the German American Bank Employee Foundation, providing a significant boost to the organization’s mission of caring for animals in need.

As a no-kill, 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 1974, DCHS operates without any state or federal funding, relying solely on community support through donations and fundraising events to sustain its operations. The shelter provides food, shelter, medical care, and adoption services for abandoned and homeless animals in Dubois County.

The German American Bank Employee Foundation, established by German American Bank—a full-service financial institution based in Jasper, Indiana—demonstrates the bank’s commitment to community support. The foundation’s donation to DCHS underscores this commitment, directly aiding in the care and placement of animals seeking forever homes.

“Because of community partners like you, we’re able to continue our mission of giving every animal the love and second chance they deserve,” DCHS expressed in a statement.

This contribution not only supports the immediate needs of the shelter but also highlights the vital role that local businesses and their employees play in sustaining essential community services.
