The Jasper Municipal Water Department will begin its fall hydrant flushing and maintenance program on Tuesday, September 2. Work will take place Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., weather permitting, and is expected to continue for several weeks until all city hydrants are serviced.

Officials note the water remains safe for human and pet consumption throughout the process. However, customers may notice temporary cloudy or discolored water. Residents are advised to run cold water taps until the water clears and to use caution when doing laundry, as clothing may become stained.
