A portion of County Road 600 West in Dubois County is set to close for several weeks as crews complete a bridge rehabilitation project.

Beginning on or after April 8, the Dubois County Highway Department’s contractor, Blankenberger Brothers Inc., will close 600 W at the bridge over the Patoka River. The closure point is located just south of the intersection of 600 W and Division Road, which will remain open to through traffic.

Officials say the closure is expected to last up to 60 days, depending on weather conditions and any unforeseen delays. During that time, local traffic will still be permitted access up to the point of closure.

Drivers are encouraged to plan alternate routes and use caution when traveling in the area as construction gets underway.
