Dubois County election officials are introducing upgraded voting equipment ahead of the upcoming election cycle, aiming to enhance the voting experience while maintaining a familiar process for residents.
The county’s existing MicroVote system has been updated to the Infinity Rev. 1 machine, offering improved functionality without changing the overall voting booth setup. Voters will continue to use the same push-button style interface, though each booth will now feature a newly upgraded voting panel.
One of the most noticeable improvements is a highlighting feature that clearly marks a voter’s selection on the panel. Officials say this enhancement is designed to provide added confidence and clarity throughout the voting process.
Voters are reminded that they may cast a ballot by selecting at least one race, or they may choose to vote in every race listed. Before finalizing their ballot, voters are encouraged to carefully review their choices using the VVPAT, or Voter-Verified Paper Audit Trail system. Once selections are confirmed, voters must press the red button to officially cast their vote.
County officials say the updates are focused on improving usability and transparency while preserving the straightforward and reliable system voters are accustomed to.
