A local beautification effort is once again gearing up for the warmer months, and community members are being invited to take part.

Patoka 2000, the beautification committee of the Jasper Chamber of Commerce, is now accepting donations to help prepare and maintain the decorative urns placed along the Patoka River Bridge for the spring and summer seasons.

Donations of any amount are welcome and can be made by individuals, families, or businesses. Contributors also have the option to dedicate their donation in honor or memory of a loved one, or as a tribute to a meaningful cause. The initiative offers a way for residents to recognize someone special while contributing to the visual appeal of the community.

Officials encourage friends and family members to combine their contributions to support the project, which plays a role in keeping Jasper clean, welcoming, and attractive for both residents and visitors.

As part of the recognition, a listing of donors and their dedications will be published in The Dubois County Free Press around May 12.

The deadline to submit donations for the summer project is May 3. Contributions can be mailed to Patoka 2000 in care of the Jasper Chamber of Commerce at P.O. Box 307, Jasper, Indiana, 47547-0307.

For additional information, residents can contact the Jasper Chamber at 812-482-6866 or by email at chamber@jasperin.org.
