Tuesday night the Huntingburg Common Council and Utility Board welcomed the President of Midwestern Engineers Inc., John Wetzel, P.E., as a guest speaker who provided expense figures in regards to work they have  accomplished with the City of Huntingburg.

Also mentioned was the collaboration between Midwestern and the city as they intend to present at the American Water Works Association conference.

Mayor Denny Spinner explains the progress of the 4th street project.

Mayor Spinner says the the purpose of the presentation is to demonstrate the planning, execution, and success of the 4th street project.

Other activity in reference to this project includes the city submitting an application to the Trenchless Technology Magazine which is a national publication.

Mayor Spinner says the trenchless technology used for 4th street was unique for the area. He also gave credit to all who were involved in the planning and completion of the project from the Water Department, contractors, engineering firm, and many more who were instrumental in the project.

Mayor Spinner says that seeing the work developed into the outcome of 5 blocks of water main replacement in less than 7 weeks is noteworthy of recognition and he reflects on the collaborative work that he hopes continues as other projects are still in progress.

 


Mayor Spinner also acknowledged the communication and support of merchants and residents along 4th street and says that all should soon return to normal along the Huntingburg downtown area.
