The City of Huntingburg announces that the Utility Department is currently conducting its annual gas leak survey required by the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission. The Survey is expected to last until Friday, October 14th, weather permitting. The survey checks the city’s system for gas leaks and residents please take notice of city workers in yards, alleys and roads.

The City of Huntingburg’s Street Department is conducting Fall Cleanup Days:

Thursday, October 6th from 12 p.m. until 7 p.m.

Friday, October 7th from 12 p.m.  until 7 pm

Saturday, October 8th from 8 am till 4 pm

Fall Cleanup Days provides city residents the opportunity to safely dispose of unwanted items at the Huntingburg Street Department, located at 1103 E 1st Street. Fall Cleanup Days are for Huntingburg residents only. A utility bill and ID are required. The City of Huntingburg reserves the right to refuse any item.

The cost is $2 per car, $5 per truck, $5 per trailer under 8 feet and $10 per trailer over 8 feet. Additional fees apply for items such as vehicle tires on rims for $3; vehicle tires without rims for $2; large truck and tractor tires for $5; and televisions, computers and monitors for $6 per item. Small loose items must be placed in a trash bag to be accepted. Small items are considered those smaller than 12 to 18 inches. Items containing Freon, such as refrigerators, dehumidifiers and air conditioners, require a certificate from a licensed plumber stating the Freon has been removed. Wood, plywood, asphalt shingles and other construction debris will not be accepted.
