The Dubois County Health Department say they will be extending their hours to provide pediatric and adult influenza vaccine this Wednesday October 5th from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. and from 1 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Flu vaccine is also available daily from 8 a.m.  until 11 a.m. and from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. The nasal vaccine is not available.

Private Insurance, Medicaid and Medicare Part B are being accepted as a method of payment. All insurance cards must be presented at the time of service. The health department says by far, the single best way to prevent the flu is for individuals to get a vaccination each fall.

They say everyone 6 months and older should get a flu vaccine. Flu vaccines cause antibodies to develop in the body about two weeks after vaccination.
