This weekend the March for Babies is taking place at 1 p.m. on Sunday, October 09, 2016 at the Jerry Brewer Alumni Stadium located on 2nd Street in Jasper. Get a team together and register. Registration begins at noon and there is no cost to register, donations are welcomed.
The March for Babies is sponsored by the March of Dimes and raises money through donations. The March of Dimes was founded in 1938 by Franklin D. Roosevelt and is focused on leading technology that is used to discover genetic causes of birth defects. They promote education about the best practices for healthy pregnacies to medical professionls and the public through their many commuinty and gobal programs.
Donations are used exclusively to fund research in finding the causese of premature birth and ways to increase prevention, support families with a premature baby in newborn intensive care and helping women to have full-term pregnancies and healthy babies.
